Ryan Loves Hiking

Ok, and Andy & Breanna do, too :o)

Ryan, my brother was in town from Duluth, MN this week for work and hung around for the weekend to spend time with Andy and me - hooray!! We're so grateful his work brings him to Colorado, and that he's able and willing to extend the trip to partake in some of his favorite things with us: drinking wine, staying up far too late every night catching-up, and hiking. Which luckily happen to be some of our favorites, too!

The three of us turned-up the 90's on 9 satellite radio (aka the best thing to happen in a really long time) and jammed to Snoop, Pearl Jam, and No Doubt all the way through Rocky Mountain National Park on Saturday, which really if that's not how you're enjoying RMNP then you're doing it wrong. We stopped off at Bear Lake to hit the trails and get even further into the mountains for a bit and try to fully take-in the beauty of it all.

"I have a feeling this picture is really awkward, but I don't know how to fix it."

Thanks for hanging with us, Ryan!

Ella was so over all the sun.

Memorial Day was busy at Station 26!

I enjoyed some fancy bottle service at Drag Queen Bingo at Hamburger Mary's Tuesday night!

My super fun and funny friend, Jen, went on stage to help announce numbers with one of the queens!

Andy at Red Rocks, ruining pictures.

Rainbow over the Spoon show.

The Decemberists on Wednesday night.

Making our house feel like spring.

My brother is here!!

Here's one last picture to remind you of the beautiful scene we took in Wednesday night.

Friday Photos [5.22.15]

Here are some photos from Andy & my week:

Celebrating Andy's birthday on Monday <3

Some of our friends, like Rob, came out to help make the day extra special for him!

In NYC: What do you mean "am I a tourist?"

Hey Alli, want to get brunch in New York City?

Brooklyn Bridge with my gal Alli!

Nina and Alli taking in the somber 9/11 memorial.

Subway riding with these gals is so fun.

And sight-seeing is even more fun!

A free show in Brooklyn means you're going to see one of your fav artists - Jamie Lidell - cuz it's Brooklyn and they can get anyone to perform.

Picking-up some flowers around the corner from Erin's apartment.

Woah, so late getting this post out! I've had a wonderful and fulfilling past week or so with a trip out to NYC, celebrating the wedding of two dear friends, seeing some of the best gal pals after years apart, my birthday, and my bro coming to Denver for a visit (more on all of that later), so I hope you excuse my absence and will reward you with photos in the coming weeks!

Andy & Breanna's Birthday Celebration

Andy and I had an impromptu brewery night with Kevin on Friday. On Saturday we had our combined birthday party at Station 26 - Andy's bday is 5/18 and mine is 5/23 - and were so honored to have about 20 friends come out and celebrate with us. Unfortunately, we were too busy enjoying delicious beer and great conversations to take pictures, but trust us, it was an amazing time.

Barrels, cans, and kegs at the Dry Dock Canoe Room.

The gents enjoying the comfy chairs at Mu.

And I got the love seat to myself.

VIP!

<3

Oh, and on Sunday, we slept and watched TV. Oops.

Friday Photos [5.15.15]

Here are some photos from Andy & my week:

Doughnuts and beers at Station 26 with Lauren & Amy.

Our Tuesday night appetizer dinner. Featured here are fried mashed potato balls with an avocado cream sauce and edamame. Not pictured: cheese, cheese spread and crackers, fried brussel sprouts.

In hindsight, it was way too much food and was way more appropriate for a movie night than a dining room table night.

I went to Johnson & Wales's campus Wednesday afternoon to have a best practice brainstorming session with my colleague, Natalie.

All dressed-up for our anniversary dinner Wednesday night.

Fancy drinkies at Table Top in Park Hill for our fancy five year celebration <3

We were totally in-synch with our anniversary gifts color palette. A Madison isthmus belt buckle for Andy and smoked quartz and diamond earrings for me.

Beautiful Thursday evening walk for Ella which she responded to by squealing, squeaking, and barking the whole damn time.

Lazy popcorn and movie, "The Theory of Everything", night Thursday.

As my work is transitioning from being out on the road traveling to in the office follow-up, I find that the days go by slowly, but the weeks just speed by and I'm in disbelief that it's already Friday. I enjoy the task of filling a full work week with projects and calls to students, and find it to be a bit like a game of maximizing my time at home and getting on campus. I can't say I've perfected it yet, but I'm only two weeks into this new schedule this year and look forward to planning my weeks out. Remember how I was talking about balance last week? Yea, that's what I'm working on right now and this month.
