Last Weekend: Lost in the Woods, Star Wars

Last weekend Andy and I were lucky enough to get two tickets for New Belgium's annual sour beer fest called Lost in the Woods. They shut down the brewery for the evening and throw a kickass sour beer festival/party complete with the brewery fully decorated, DJs, and of course beers :) Andy and I headed up to Fort Collins early afternoon and did some brewery visits before getting ready to get lost in the woods.

Kevin sent us a picture of Ella and Rhett helping him take a nap.

I wish I had more photos to show you of how beautiful, festive, and fun the foeder forest and New Belgium were! But it was pretty dark and my pictures didn't turn out the best, sadly.

Sunday back in Denver, Andy and I had plans to meet Heather and Noah at the Denver Art Museum for the exhibit Star Wars and the Power of Costume. The four of us spent nearly two hours wandering the exhibit looking at the costumes from the movie and listening to stories about the costumes on these telephone-like devices the museum lent us.

And afterwards, the four of us grabbed some beers and dinner.

Super Bowl 50, the year the Broncos won

I'm not watching the Super Bowl today. And it's exactly why you think: neither of my teams made it...and it doesn't sound like Missy Elliot will make a surprise appearance. Andy and I talked about going to the Denver Art Museum, some friends suggested we go grocery shopping (no lines!), and I will probably go to a yoga class. But, let's take a minute to live in the past, and remember the Super Bowl from last year when the Broncos won!

Andy, Shelly, and I went downtown to Wynkoop Brewery to a Super Bowl party and watched the game with dozens of Broncos fans in Denver. And the excitement! The energy! I loved it!

Union State lit up.

Police in riot gear ready for a riot, but the city was all just drunk and probably high and definitely happy and not rioting!

No Packers (my #1 team) and no Broncos (my #2 and current city team) in it this year, and I'm just not feeling the bug. But last year, last year was so fun!

Friday Photos [2.3.17]

Here are some photos from Andy & my week:

Grabbing beers at Beryl's with my main man.

I did it! Twenty hot yoga classes in 31 days!

Everyone is welcome at the library <3

Out for beers with Jon on Wednesday. Guess I left my phone unattended!

This picture is a keeper...

Ella made herself a snuggle bug in our down comforter Friday morning.

Last Weekend: Breweries, Movies, Mountains

Last weekend wasn't as productive as I would have liked in that I didn't set-up my new bookcases or make the frittata I was hoping to, but it was fulfilling in other ways in that we spent a lot of time with friends and got out to enjoy our fabulous Colorado winter weather. So, overall, I can't complain!

Friday night Andy and I went out with Kevin to Copper Kettle brewery, which isn't too far from our houses. And Saturday, Shelly and I went to the matinee showing of "Hidden Figures" and out for a couple beers afterwards to chat about it. If you haven't seen the movie yet, drop what you're doing right now and go see it - you'll thank me! When I got home, Andy and I cooked dinner and agreed on a lazy movie night and disagreed on movie choice until finally agreeing on "O Brother Where Art Thou".

Andy and I headed out for a Sunday morning hike in the foothills of Boulder. It's so muddy on the trails right now as the temperature is rising and the snow is melting! So we ended up doing a hike we'd done before since the trail we wanted to try was closed due to conditions. But hey, no complaints! There's not a bad view! Since we were already up in Boulder, we decided to head to some breweries, and meet up with our friends Mark & Devon.

Not as cool of an action shot as I was hoping, but here's Andy rinsing his muddy boot in a stream.

Girl Scouts were selling cookies at the brewery. They made a lot of money.

Friday Photos [1.27.17]

Here are some photos from Andy & my week:

Andy made us chili and I made us grilled cheese on Monday, and we enjoyed them in front of the movie "Sully".

We went to Ikea. We bought some mirrors.

Cool old firehouse in downtown Niwot (Niwot is right outside of Boulder).

I brought Andy out to dinner Thursday night to Phoenician Kabob, a middle eastern restaurant in our neighborhood.

Andy's fancy drink at the Bistro in Stapleton.

And lastly, a couple more pictures from the Women's March from the other weekend. First one of me and my ladies because we're best when we help each other up, and second one of the gentlemen holding our purses so we could take our picture because no march is complete or as influential as when your allies show up, too <3
