Halloween in Black & White

Neither Andy nor I are very big on dressing up for Halloween. Or, more truthfully, both Andy and I let Halloween sneak up on us at the last minute and it's October 30th and we don't have a costume or even an idea of a costume so we just stay in and say we're not very big on dressing up for Halloween. But this year I came across this blog post in early October and both Andy and I knew we found a Halloween costume that we could pull off, and that we were both really excited about!

We had a lot of the black and white costume pieces already in our closets and just had to buy a few items and some makeup/hair dye to pull it together. Overall it was really pleasantly simple and cheap. And we had a lot of fun with it :o)

We didn't wine the costume contest at the Station 26 Halloween party. But the first place winner dressed as the "Mad Max" Fury Road Guitar Guy so basically we all knew we had lost as soon as he came in.

It was a blast for both of us to get dressed up and be excited to go out and show off our Halloween spirit.

We drank the night away...kind of like dancing the night away, but better.

Friday Photos [11.27.15]

Here are some photos from Andy & my week:

Proud Vikings fan in Minnesota.

This display at Whole Foods was so beautiful.

We saw "The Hunger Games" Monday night.

I went hiking in the mountains with my friends Joe & Jessica Tuesday night.

Joe and I enjoyed the early morning sunrise in the Rockies Wednesday morning.

Joe glowing with the first beams of sun.

Out to dinner and drinks Wednesday night.

I viewed the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade with breakfast.

Thanksgiving hanging and beer drinking with the Spanglers and Shelly's mom.

This is what much of Thanksgiving dinner looked like for me <3

Thankful for Family

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm sitting here in Denver watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, texting with my sister-in-law who's actually at the parade (!!), and reminiscing with gratitude about my trip back to Minnesota last weekend to see my family.

MY SIBLINGS!!

I flew back to Minneapolis Friday night and spent time with my mom and dad. On Saturday we drove up with my sis Meg to Duluth, MN to hang with my bro, sis-in-law, and nephew. I went to Bentleyville, a beautiful light display (totally  underselling it - it's phenomenal (also underselling it)) in Duluth, with my folks.

Sunday was Lew's baptism! He looked like a big shot in his dapper satin suit and stole the heart's of everyone in the church <3

THOSE CHEEKS!

I'm a terrible auntie and baptism sponsor, and didn't get hardly any pictures at the baptism. But I did get some of hanging at the bar with Lew post-baptism with the fam. So, maybe I'm winning at being an auntie?

I had such a great weekend at home! Looking back on these pictures I can't believe how much I did - and I didn't even take pictures at every big moment of the weekend!

(Sorry there are no pictures of you, Mom! I'll take a bunch at Christmas :o))

Legos at the Denver Zoo

Andy and I visited the Denver Zoo the last day of October to catch the Lego exhibit on its final day. We weren't sure what to expect, which was fine since we live a mile or so from the zoo and enjoy going anyway. We biked the short ride to the zoo; a smart move on our part since parking was basically non-existent with all the visitors. It was a really nice, warm, sunny day so the ride was an extra bonus for both Andy and me.

The Lego sculptures were sparse throughout the zoo and some were like a little game of Where's Waldo - a fun surprise to see one where you didn't expect!

Not Legos.

Tall guy!

I'm so glad we made it to see the Legos, and that it was such a beautiful day to wander outside for a couple hours!
