Friday Photos [12.18.15]

Here are some photos from Andy & my week:

We hung out with our friends Ash & Cass! <3

Seen at a beer festival.

We cooked with a lot of tomatoes this week.

Moon in Denver.

Avery, it's like you know me.

Boulder is beautiful even at the railroad tracks.

Love surprise Christmas trees in Denver.

Andy and I exchanged gifts on Thursday and Ella was super interested in some of them.

Beers, cards, sushi. My kind of night.

This week was a good week!

Sunrise in the Mountains

I posted last week about my overnight in the mountains. But I left one part out - watching the sunrise in the mountains. Joe and I woke up super early Wednesday morning to hike out a half a mile or so to watch the sunrise with the backdrop of the Rockies. It was super early (did I already say that?) but so totally worth it for the views! I know you all believe me, but here are the pictures for proof, and for you to enjoy.

It's true what they say - everything looks different and better in the morning light <3

Friday Photos [12.11.15]

Here are some photos from Andy & my week:

We went to the Denver Flea on Sunday and no this picture isn't backwards, the balloons are drunk after a weekend of Flea-ing.

This is my "I woke up and swore I wouldn't have a beer, but now it's 5:00, so..." face.

Our look-out gal.

Our friends Chris and Jess had us over for the Bell's planet series beer tasting on Monday! Such a fun concept.

I mean, how cool are those bottles? Oh, and the beers were delish cuz duh it's Bell's.

Andy brought me to the Denver Botanic Garden Christmas light display.

Singing some songs. Not us. Them.

We tried out a new brewery called Cerebral. The taproom is school themed, hence the beaker tasting glasses.

Rhett joined Shelly and my gal's night.

Cabin in the Mountains

My friends Joe and Jessica were visiting from Brooklyn Thanksgiving week. After spending most of the year looking at skyscrapers and cement, they look forward to their annual trip to Denver and especially a trip into the mountains of Vail. J&J were kind enough to invite me to join them for their 2.5 mile snowshoe to a cabin. And never once made me feel like their third wheel :o)

Assembling their new equipment.

Let's start this hike!!

We had the upper level of this stunning cabin.

We got to our cabin over an hour before check-time, but since we were 2.5 miles from the road it's not like we could go grab happy hour or something while we waited. So we went hiking to check out some more of the Rocky Mountain views. And luckily, we brought happy hour with us ;o)

Joe likes forging his own trail.

We spent the rest of the time hanging around the cabin. Catching-up among friends, playing cards, stoking the fire to heat our cabin, and drinking bourbon.

Sunset from our cabin.

The next morning we enjoyed a quiet morning around the cabin (with wine donated from the neighbors downstairs!) before strapping our snowshoes back on and hiking out.

Start of sunrise from our cabin.

Thanks for the great hike, cabin night, and company, J&J!
