Fourth of July in Denver

Last year Andy and I spent the 4th of July weekend celebrating just the two of us in Santa Fe, NM. And while it was such a great vacation, and we loved Santa Fe, we were excited to stay local this year and enjoy what Denver had to offer with some of our closest friends.

Our Park Hill neighborhood hosts a community parade on the 4th each year, and this is the first year we actually prioritized going. We invited our friends Christine and Lindsay and Lindsay's young kids Madison and Chris to join us and the Spanglers. It turned out to be a sweet 45 minute parade with homemade floats, cool old cars, and a lot of bikes!

After the parade we walked back to our place for a grill-out with everyone. Very summer, very 4th of July :o)

Madison loved feeding Ella and Rhett watermelon and chips, and they loved it, too!

It turns out Chris loves guys and loves being thrown around! Though, really, what three year old boy doesn't? Andy was happy to spend much of the afternoon with Chris on his shoulders or tossing him up in the air!

I hope you had a festive celebration!
