October 2016 Mountain Trips

One of the benefits of living on the Front Range is quick access to the mountains. Andy and I take regular day and semi-regular overnight trips to the Rockies to enjoy the beautiful sights our state has

In early October we took a day trip southwest of Denver to Staunton State Park for a leisurely hike that accidentally became an all day hike.

In late October we took an overnight trip down south in Colorado Springs. We spent the evening drinking beers, playing games, visiting a brewery, and then drinking more beers. We had morning tickets to ride the cog train up to the top of Pikes Peak which is 14,114 feet!

Dinner: Beer, pretzels, fries, beer cheese soup.

On the train.
